How to Access The Forsaken Hollows DLC

Installation & Activation Guide

Platform-specific instructions for all systems

The Forsaken Hollows DLC requires manual activation if purchased through pre-order, Deluxe Edition, or Collector's Edition. Follow the platform-specific instructions below.

Verifying DLC Ownership

After installation, check the lower right corner of the title screen - "The Forsaken Hollows" should be displayed if properly activated.

Visual Indicator: Look for "The Forsaken Hollows" text in the lower right corner of the main menu title screen.

Platform-Specific Activation

PlayStation 5 & PlayStation 4

Manual Download Required for pre-orders and special editions:

Method 1: PlayStation Store

  1. Open the PlayStation Store
  2. Search for "nightreign"
  3. Select "ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN The Forsaken Hollows PS4 & PS5"
  4. Download the DLC

Method 2: Game Card

  1. Navigate to Elden Ring Nightreign on your system
  2. Scroll down on the Game Card
  3. Select "Add-Ons"
  4. Download The Forsaken Hollows Add-On

Xbox Series X|S & Xbox One

  1. Find Elden Ring Nightreign in your game library
  2. Press the Menu button on your controller
  3. Select "Manage Games & Add-ons"
  4. In the Add-Ons section, tick The Forsaken Hollows
  5. Press "Save Changes"
  6. The DLC will install automatically

You can also download from your owned titles list on the Xbox home screen.

PC (Steam)

The Forsaken Hollows should auto-install for Steam users. If it doesn't appear:

  1. Right-click Elden Ring Nightreign in your Steam library
  2. Click "Properties"
  3. Navigate to the DLC tab
  4. Tick The Forsaken Hollows checkbox
  5. Alternatively, download directly from the DLC's Steam store page

Unlocking DLC Content In-Game

Step 1: Defeat Tricephalos

You must defeat the base game Nightlord Tricephalos before accessing any DLC content.

Step 2: Unlock New Nightfarers

After defeating Tricephalos and logging in:

  1. Travel to Roundtable Hold
  2. Speak with the Iron Menial
  3. Receive a message from the Small Jar Merchant
  4. Follow the quest to unlock Scholar and Undertaker

Step 3: Access New Expeditions

  • Balancers Expedition: Requires defeating Tricephalos + one additional Nightlord
  • Dreglord Expedition: Requires completing Balancers Expedition once

Step 4: Explore The Great Hollow

The new area with the Shifting Earth event becomes accessible once Scholar and Undertaker are unlocked.

Troubleshooting

DLC Not Appearing

  • Verify DLC is checked/installed in your platform's management system
  • Restart the game after installation
  • Check for game updates (version 1.03 or later required)
  • Ensure you've defeated Tricephalos in the base game

Cannot Find New Content

  • Speak to Iron Menial at Roundtable Hold
  • Verify DLC indicator on title screen
  • Check that base game progress meets requirements
